0➡️1 product development to launch a browser extension for product protection
Mulberry is the first and only browser extension that offers free and affordable extended warranties directly to consumers when they shop online. By eliminating the middleman, we can make prices affordable for the end consumer. The Chrome browser extension alerts you when a product you are shopping for is eligible for product protection. Shoppers can then get (1) unlimited free 1-year product protection plans or (2) Or “upgrade” to 3-year, 5-year protection plans at the lowest prices.
As the lead Product Designer, I collaborated closely with the leadership team, Product Manager, and Engineering Lead to bring an entirely new browser extension to life.
Designing a browser extension was an exciting challenge, as it required balancing inspiration from existing e-commerce extensions with our unique offering. I explored key user scenarios, including the optimal timing to notify consumers about eligible product protection, driving adoption without disrupting their shopping experience, and effective ways to communicate benefits within limited space. I also considered how the extension should function when the user is not shopping. I helped test a proof-of-concept, which allowed us to understand various user scenarios, how the extension integrated with our machine-learning classifier, and determined what was included in MVP.

I also worked closely with the Head of Marketing to design a landing page that effectively informed consumers of the browser extension's value and ultimately drive installs.
